While Japanese ceramic as an artform has been greatly influenced by China and Korea, it has developed its own orignal techniques and ideas. Today Japan has become the ceramics center of the world. Tea ceremony and ikebana stimulated to the development of the aesthetic side of pottery.
At the Japanese dining table, regarding that a great number of tableware is needed depending on the cooking, and regarding the many variants, an abundance (of ceramics) is needed.
